An experienced kitchen & bath designer, Jane’s second career evolved while studying interior design at the New England School of Art & Design at Suffolk University in Boston, with courses that included drafting and drawing, color theory, kitchen & bath design, interiors materials and finishes, and history of furniture and architecture. Designing kitchens and baths and seeing them come to life is Jane’s “happy place!”
As Head of Professional & Continuing Education at the Boston Architectural College for seven years, she was the program director for a variety of residential design certificate programs, including Kitchen & Bath Design, Design for a Lifetime and Residential Interiors.
In 2013, she received Certified Aging in Place Specialist (CAPS) certification, from the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB). This provides her with the necessary design skills in creating design solutions for aging family members, but she incorporates many of these important design elements for those who simply want design solutions that will support everyone’s comfort and functionality without sacrificing great style. (Think temporary conditions like a broken foot or shoulder surgery.) Home environments should be welcoming to all! Age is irrelevant!
Jane strongly believes in professional development and being active in the design community. In addition to membership in IFDA where she currently serves as one of three Directors at Large on the International Board of Directors, she previously served as the of VP, Education for the New England chapter. Jane is also a member of the National Kitchen & Bath Association, Northern New England Chapter (NKBA NNE) where she was chapter treasurer for three years.
