Karen started her interior design firm, KDZ Designs, LLC in 2009. She lives in Western Massachusetts, in the Amherst area, and consults throughout New England. She is a 2006 graduate of the Masters of Interior Design program at Suffolk University-New England School of Art and Design, and made a career change after having worked in the computer industry for over 15 years. This is her third year as President of the New England Chapter of the IFDA, and her fifth year as an IFDA NE board member. Karen’s interior design practice encompasses everything from selecting a client’s paint color palette to working with my clients’ architect, builder, kitchen and/or lighting designer, as well as artisans and sub-contractors, to consult in all aspects of planning and execution of a new home or renovation design.
She collaborates with my clients to evaluate space planning and flow in their current or planned spaces and select finishes, materials, lighting, cabinetry, hardware, all types of furnishings and accessories, plus window treatments, based on budget and any other considerations.
Karen was published in the Fall of 2011, in “Living Spaces” magazine, highlighting the renovation of a 1915 Craftsman Bungalow in Western Massachusetts.
