ARTEFACT Home|Garden to host LUXURY CRAFT
March 13 @ 4:30 pm - 7:30 pm
A Learning Experience
Featuring furniture designer, Tom Verellen
Artefact Home|Garden of Belmont is pleased to present LUXURY CRAFT, a credited learning experience for design trade professionals featuring renowned furniture designer Tom Verellen and his industry partners from Belgian linen manufacturer Libeco and Moore + Giles, purveyors of fine leather and leather products. This two-credit course takes place Monday, March 13th beginning with a Sip + Social at 4:30PM, followed by the Learning Experience from 5:00PM-7:30 PM.
What goes into designing a piece of furniture that never goes out of style? The presentation focuses on the art of Verellen – handcrafted, innovative and inspired pieces; the company’s commitment to organic and sustainable materials and their collaboration with industry partners Libeco and Moore + Giles who provide the best textiles for the designs.
“We’re absolutely thrilled to be hosting this event,” states Sue Walsh, co-owner of ARTEFACT. “There’s an enormous amount that must be considered, in order to create a beautifully designed, enduring piece of handcrafted furniture. Tom and his partners will discuss everything from design to delivery, including how innovation and tradition help create his distinctive luxury brand.”
Tom and his wife Sabine, high school sweethearts, met in their hometown of Antwerp, Belgium, a place where modern and traditional cohabitate naturally. They brought their talents, attention to detail, and modern eye to the USA, where the “Verellen aesthetic” was born —a perfect merger of their Belgian heritage and European sophistication, with their newfound home, America, demand for comfort. Committed to preserving the tradition of bench-craft furniture making, the Verellens live and work where their furniture is made, in the heart of a city known as the “Furniture Capital of the World,” High Point, N.C.
ARTEFACT Home|Garden offers an eclectic mix of furniture, lighting, decorative accessories, and gifts, as well as boutique container-gardening and floral design. Co-owners Sue and Maureen Walsh juxtapose sophisticated design with unconventional style, continually seeking out beautiful and innovative design from local artisans and craftspeople from around the globe. The studio is greater Boston’s premier destination for Verellen furniture, lighting and decorative accessories. Located just outside of Boston, in Belmont, ARTEFACT is carefully curated for people who have a passion for exceptional design.
LUXURY CRAFT, a Learning Experience takes place Monday, March 13th 4:30PM – 7:30PM at Artefact Home|Garden, 1000 Pleasant Street, Belmont, MA. This event is free and open to all design professionals regardless of whether the two (2) credit hours are needed. Plenty of free parking is available. Light refreshments will be served.
